Introduction
What SkaleData is, how the console, CLI, and API fit together, and where to start.
SkaleData runs a managed data platform inside your own cloud account. You connect an AWS, GCP, or Azure account, create a cluster, and deploy applications such as Apache Airflow, Airbyte, Superset, and DataHub onto it. SkaleData provisions and upgrades the infrastructure. Your data and your workloads stay in your account.
You work with SkaleData through three surfaces:
- The console at app.skaledata.com creates clusters, deploys and configures applications, and manages your organization.
- The
skaleCLI connects clouds, develops and deploys Airflow DAGs, and mints credentials for application APIs. - The API at
https://api.skaledata.commanages clouds, clusters, applications, and jobs, authenticated with an API key. A few operations need a console session instead, such as managing API keys and billing; the API keys page lists them.
Where to start
Getting started
Install the CLI, connect a cloud, check your quota, and deploy your first cluster and app.
Clusters
How clusters are versioned and upgraded, and what a destroy deletes and keeps.
Applications
Operate Airflow, extend the Superset image, and call application APIs from scripts and CI.
Organization and access
Roles, organization API keys and their scopes, and workspace-scoped keys.
AI clients
Connect Claude and other MCP clients, and see what data leaves your cloud.
